SECI’s Mega Solar Manufacturing Tender Gets Third Extension for Bid Submission

Description: The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has yet again extended the bid submission deadline for setting up 150 MW (50 MW x 3) of grid connected floating solar power projects at Rihand Dam (also known as Govind Ballabh Pant Sagar Reservoir), located in Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh. Now, the bid submission deadline is October 25, 2018 and the techno-commercial bid will open on October 26, 2018. Talking to Mercom, a SECI official said, “The reason for extension maybe because Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) is not yet uploaded.” Previously, Mercom had reported that SECI extended the bid submission deadline to September 28, 2018 from the earlier deadline of May 31. SECI has also extended the bid submission deadline for 160 MW of solar-wind hybrid power project with battery energy storage system (BESS) at Ramagiri, located in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh. The new deadline is October 17, 2018. Previously, SECI had extended the deadline from October 1, 2018 to October 10, 2018 after an amendment in the tender document. According to the amendment, the percentage of mandatory spare modules supplied from within the country has been increased from 0.25 percent to 0.50 percent of the total supply of solar modules. Moreover, SECI has issued amendments in tender for the development of 2 MW (AC) of solar projects with 1 MW of battery energy storage system (BESS) at Kaza, located in Spiti Valley of Himachal Pradesh.
