BIS Certified Solar Module Manufacturers

Overview
On 30th August 2017 Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) issued an order implementing certification to solar photovoltaic devices. MNRE also directed financial institutes to favour BIS certified solar power devices over other devices present in the market. BIS certification is a voluntary choice to manufacturers. In 2019 order MNRE made it mandatory to obtain BIS certification for solar cell, module and inverter manufacturers. Exemptions are made for domestic solar module manufacturer with an annual capacity less than 50 MW until 2020.
Latest Development
Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) has recently issued office memorandum extending the effective dates for implementation of Approved Lists of Models & Manufacturers (ALMM) for Solar PV modules and Solar PV cells to 30th September 2020, which was earlier 31.03.2020, due to COVID-19 pandemic
