Tripura Net Metering Regulations - 2016

Control Period From the date of publication in the official gazette of Tripura.
Eligible Consumer

Any consumer in the supply area of the distribution licensee.

Capacity Target for Distribution Transformer

Cumulative capacity of solar rooftop systems should not exceed 15% of the rated capacity of the concerned distribution transformer provided thatthe distribution licensee may allow net metering connectivity exceeding 15% of rated capacity based on a detailed load study.

Metering Arrangement
  • Two meters will be installedA single phase or three phase net meter shall be installed at the point of interconnection.
  • Distribution licensee shall install a solar generation meter at an appropriate location.

 

OTHER PROVISIONS

 

Energy accounting and settlement
  • If quantity of electricity exported exceeds that of electricity imported, the excess quantity shall be carried forward to the next billing period as credited amount.
  • If quantum of electricity exported falls below quantum of electricity imported, the excess amount shall be billed by the distribution licensee after adjusting against credited units.
  • The licensee shall buy unadjusted net electricity credited up to 10% of total units generated during the year at SERC/CERC approved APPC.
  • Any electricity injected into the grid above 10% of total annual generation shall not be subject to payment by the licensee.
Other charges

Systems shall be exempted from wheeling, banking, cross subsidy and other charges for five years, unless extended thereafter.
