HIGHLIGHTS

 

Eligibility Condition

  • Consumer should be in the distribution licensee’s area of supply.
  • Minimum 1 kWp and maximum 1 MWp (AC side) capacity; consumers are restricted to 80% of contract demand.
  • No restriction applicable on installation capacity for state GENCO and distribution licensee.

Capacity Target for Distribution Licensee

Available capacity should be specified by the Commission from time to time.

Metering Arrangement

Net metering: Electricity bill must indicate banked power, electricity injected, electricity supplied and billing amount. Distribution licensee can levy additional charges other than energy charges with prior permission from the Commission. During settlement period, excess energy injected will be compensated according to APPC approved by the Commission.

EXIM metering: Electricity consumed will be charged according to the tariff approved. Electricity injected is calculated according to APPC and deducted from the electricity bill. Excess electricity injected will not be accounted.

RPO & REC

Electricity generated under EXIM metering will be accounted under consumer’s RPO while electricity generated under Net metering will be accounted under distribution licensee’s RPO.

EXIM metering consumer shall be allowed to participate in REC mechanism.

 

OTHER PROVISIONS

 

Energy Accounting and Settlement

  • Electricity injected less electricity consumed in the billing period shall be carried forward to the next billing period.
  • Electricity supplied by the licensee less electricity injected into the grid shall be treated as net electricity consumption and shall be billed after taking into account any electricity credit balance from the previous billing period.
  • At the end of the settlement period, in case of excess electricity injection by the consumer, the licensee shall pay average pooled power purchase cost to the consumer.

Other Charges

Exempted from wheeling and cross subsidy surcharges.

Connection Charges

All costs related to metering equipment are to be borne by the consumer who is availing of metering.
