Bids for Ground Mounted Solar (2019-20)

During 2018-19 up to February 2019, total 12185 MW capacity of solar projects have been awarded across the country. The highest bid for solar projects was Rs. 3.55/kWh which was discovered in UPNEDA tender for 1000 MW solar power projects. The lowest bid for solar projects was Rs. 2.44/kWh which was discovered in a SECI tender for 3 GW ISTS connected solar photovoltaic projects. Overall average tariff for all tenders was Rs. 3.02/kWh. This tariff was more or less central tariff as 50% of the bids were below Rs. 3.07/kWh (Median Tariff) and only one bid of Rs. 3.04/kWh was between average tariff and median tariff. Highest capacity to the tune of 6200 MW was tendered by central agencies for ISTS connected grid-connected solar projects at the lowest average bid price of Rs. 2.62/kWh. Among the states, highest capacity was tendered for Uttar Pradesh (2225 MW) followed by Maharashtra (1980 MW), Karnataka (870 MW), Gujarat (700 MW), Orissa (200 MW) and Noida (10 MW). Projects in Uttar Pradesh witnessed highest average bid price of Rs. 3.29/kWh and those in Maharashtra witnessed lowest average bid price of Rs. 2.75/kWh.
